To accelerate game pace, the UFL sets the play clock at 35 seconds, restarts the game clock after incomplete passes or out-of-bounds plays outside the two-minute warning, and shortens halftime to 12 minutes. Alternate Possession in the Fourth: Introducing drama in tight games’ final quarter, the UFL employs an alternate possession rule, giving the ball to a trailing or tied team after a defensive takeaway, deviating from traditional turnover rules.
Format: The UFL comprises eight teams split into two conferences – the USFL Conference and the XFL Conference, ensuring a 10-game schedule without bye weeks. Teams face off against conference rivals twice and play against each team from the opposite conference once.
The regular season is followed by a two-week playoff, with the top two teams from each conference vying in the divisional round, leading to the UFL Championship game to determine the champion.
